Referring with a GP Chronic Condition Management Plan (GPCCMP)
You can refer some presentations using a Chronic Condition Management Plan. Please select Item Number 10970 (Speech Pathology Health Services). Please use the information here to ensure you have completed this process correctly to avoid delays in the child being seen.
Referring via M10 Pathway
From 1 March 2026, Medicare’s MBS M10 item group allied health services (for complex neurodevelopmental conditions and eligible disabilities) will expand to include:
- Speech sound disorders, including:
- an articulation disorder;
- a phonological disorder;
- childhood apraxia of speech (also known as dyspraxia, developmental verbal dyspraxia, or speech apraxia); and
- dysarthria.
• Cleft lip and/or palate
Some feeding difficulties which are part of a global or domain-based developmental delay can also be referred via this route.
